Depression  is a serious mental health condition that can have a profound impact on all aspects of a person's life, including their relationships and career. It affects approximately one in ten people, with symptoms and causes that vary widely from person to person. While depression is often characterized by persistent feelings of low mood, it is much more than just feeling sad or having a bad day. Those who suffer from depression may experience a range of physical and emotional symptoms that can make it difficult to function in day-to-day life.

Although there is no one definitive cause of depression, there are several factors that can contribute to its development. These include genetic predisposition, traumatic life experiences, neglect or abuse, and stressful or difficult events such as the loss of a loved one or the end of a relationship. It is important to recognize that depression can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstances.
