Women's Fertility
Having difficulties with fertility can be a lonely and frustrating time. According to the NHS, one in seven couples finds it hard to conceive. For some, the cause is medical and doctors will talk you through the options available to you. For others, the cause is less clear and may be referred to as ‘unexplained infertility. In these cases, a more holistic approach may be required.
And this is where hypnotherapy can step in. Looking at any underlying emotional and psychological reasons that may be affecting conception, hypnotherapy can help reduce stress and encourage health-promoting behaviours.
I work with a variety of clients on many issues that they feel ready to work through as well as having a special interest in women's reproductive health so whether you’re feeling out of balance, disconnected or lost in some way either because you’re going through some difficulties in your life or you’re struggling with feeling stuck, stressed and emotional due to fertility problems, anxiety during pregnancy, want to know more about how to feel calm, confident and in control with Hypnobirthing, feeling guilty, angry or frustrated because of your birth trauma or suffering from hot flushes, loss of confidence and a sense of panic through the menopause, then I’m here to help.
I recognise that women can undergo different feelings at different times in their lives. The same can be said for conception, pregnancy and giving birth. Equally, for some women, feeling overwhelmed with the busyness of their lives and coping with events such as relationship problems, work expectations and trying to manage the difficulties of coping with family life work and ageing parents with no time for yourself can leave you feeling like you’re running on empty. I understand how that feels.
If you’re going through IVF, hypnotherapy can help you to achieve a deep level of relaxation that could significantly reduce your stress levels. Hypnosis for IVF and fertility treatment can help you to prepare mentally, physically and emotionally. It can assist you in making lifestyle changes or eliminating any fears you may have. It will also help reduce anxiety. Research has shown that being relaxed during medical procedures can improve success rates. Feeling depressed before IVF has been linked to lower success rates also. Hypnosis can help you feel more positive about the procedure and the outcome.
Although the aim of undertaking IVF is a positive one, this whole process can be very stressful and it’s important to try to remain calm and relaxed through a time which can sometimes feel beyond your control.
