Hypnotherapy for Habits

Habits are learnt behaviours that we accumulate over days, weeks, months or years. You may be struggling with a habit that started as a child or as an adult that served a purpose as a coping mechanism. We can of course create healthy habits but some habits can be helpful when we first create them often we replace one habit for another and of course, some habits can be detrimental and hold us back in life, Impacting our confidence, self-image, self-esteem, relationships, work and social situations. A habit is maintained because it is familiar and therefore feels comfortable. It isn’t necessarily the habit that has a negative effect but more so the negative consequences of said habit. Over time we change and grow and although we no longer see the benefit of that in

that behaviour that once served us, our subconscious mind thinks we now have to be able to safe and comfortable. We may need a healthy replacement habit to help let go.

Some of these habits may include:

  • Overusing technology such as constantly checking our phones.

  • Nail-biting

  • Skin picking

  • Thumb sucking

  • Teeth grinding

  • Excessive gaming

  • Eating excessive junk and sugary foods.

  • Procrastination

  • Indecision

  • Hoarding

  • Excessive checking or cleaning

  • Overspending

And addictions such as:

  • Gambling

  • Drug addiction

  • Alcoholism

  • Smoking

Having the will and want to change those habits is all you need to bring to hypnotherapy sessions.
