Common Uses For Hypnosis what Types of Ailments Can Hypnotherapy Treat

Hypnosis has long been thought to be useful in targeted underlying issues that cause negative behaviours. Beverley London Hypnosis Practice is dedicated to using the technique of hypnotherapy to help treat various types of ailments from alcoholism and smoking to overcoming fear and anxiety.

How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

Hypnotherapy is the process that basically works by targeting habitual habits that you’ve formed over time or due to your post and reprogramming those complexes that remain active even at the unconscious level. It is believed that hypnotherapy addresses the patient’s feelings, thoughts and beliefs about a topic that is causing them to engage in negative behaviours.

What to Expect in a Hypnotherapy Session

The first action that is taken in a hypnotherapy session is to define your goals and expectations of the treatment. Timelines will be discussed as well as how you can know whether or not the treatment is helping. Afterwards, the actual hypnotherapy process will start.

The process begins with the patient being led gently into a calm and relaxing state of awareness. Once the patient has reached that state, then the issues that are to be targeted will be delivered as already agreed upon. Once the therapy has been delivered, then the patient will be awakened and you will have a discussion about the session.

Being Hypnotized

Being hypnotized isn’t as scary as it might sound to some people. Contrary to how it is made to look in cartoons and other media, the person hypnotizing you has no control over you or your actions. The hypnotist cannot make you do anything that you don’t want to do. Basically, when you’re in a hypnotic state, you are relaxed and focused on what the hypnotist is saying, but you are still aware of your surroundings and what’s going on around you. Additionally, you can break the hypnotic state any time you choose.

How Many Sessions Does It Take to Be Cured?

Most people only undergo between three and five 55-minute sessions at Beverley’s London Hypnosis Practice.
