Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety attacks affect people in various ways. Some say they feel lost, desperate and more frightened than they have ever felt before. Also, they experience the physical symptoms of a racing heart, sweaty hands, tightness of the chest and a feeling of sickness. Combined with the psychological feelings of paranoia and a detached feeling of mentally floating, this is a truly unpleasant feeling all around.

Anxiety is usually triggered by specific situations, whether it be facing up to relationship issues, socialising or involving work, it can affect any part of our lives. This means that people will do what they can to avoid those situations. This is not a solution as it can infringe on their day-to-day functions and ultimately lead to a poorer standard of living than they would like, and in some cases make the anxiety worse if they come into any one of those situations that cannot be avoided.

Trying to control anxiety consciously can be extremely difficult and can often end up making matters worse. If people focus on their symptoms consciously it can serve to amplify those symptoms, rather like pouring petrol on a fire. This means that by trying to think yourself out of an anxiety attack you can start a vicious circle which will only serve to increase the symptoms.

Hypnotherapy and Anxiety

Hypnotherapy for anxiety works by effectively re-setting your anxiety level to ‘healthy’. It clears your subconscious of the negative and unhealthy beliefs that drive your anxiety. With our tailored Hypnotherapy sessions, you will learn to respond to life without becoming anxious. You'll regulate your emotions more effectively so that you remain relaxed in situations that would typically trigger your anxiety attacks. Hypnotherapy helps your mind to relax and will help you to regain confidence, enthusiasm, and motivation in your daily life.

It is important to remember that anxiety attacks are based on a particular mental state and can be treated with different forms of cognitive or behavioural therapies. Using hypnotherapy and a verity of therapeutic techniques  combines psychotherapy with hypnotherapy. This form of therapy allows clients to release emotions in a supportive environment, enabling each client to move forward without carrying the burden of past anxiety.
