What is hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state of consciousness which you remain calm As you enter the hypnotic state,  of focused attention and increased suggestibility during which positive suggestions used to help individuals deal with a variety of concerns and issues.


What is Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a psychological therapy; it works with the mind to bring about positive change. The big difference between hypnotherapy and any other therapy is the use of hypnosis and hypnotic inductions to facilitate change and uncover the subconscious reason for emotional disturbance. Hypnotherapy can be effective for a whole range of emotional, psychological and behavioural issues. 

How does hypnosis work

Hypnosis has the capacity to work for most people but some are more susceptible to suggestion than others. Being fully committed to the process and feeling that you can trust your hypnotherapist is key. When we are in a relaxation state, our unconscious mind becomes more susceptible to suggestion. This means that when a hypnotherapist invites us into this state and uses suggestion techniques, our thought patterns and behaviours are encouraged to change.  

Can anyone be hypnotised

When being hypnotised, you are always aware of the process and in control of what you reveal during the session. The aim is to assist people in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving. Although there are different techniques, clinical hypnotherapy is generally performed in a calm, therapeutic environment. You will be guided into a relaxed, focused state and ask you to think about experiences and situations in positive ways that can help you change the way you think and behave.

What can I expect from a session

I will ask you to complete the medical history of general health and lives style.  to decide on the best approach for the individual this is important information, and I will go through it with you at the time of the consultation. This complimentary consultation is designed to answer any questions you may have about the practice and to discuss which therapy procedure is best for you.
